About the Event

Celtic Exodus: The Musical premieres in Dublin for a strictly limited summer season at The Round Room at the Mansion House from July to August 2026. Created and written by Brian Warfield of The Wolfe Tones, this epic new Irish musical tells a powerful story of love, rebellion, famine, resilience and the enduring spirit of the Irish people. Set in 1840s Ireland, Celtic Exodus follows star crossed lovers Sean McDonagh and Siobhan Buckley as famine and oppression force thousands to leave their homeland during one of the greatest migrations in Irish history.

More than a musical, Celtic Exodus celebrates how Irish music, dance, storytelling and customs travelled to the four corners of the world through generations of exile and migration, helping shape Irish identity across America, Britain, Australia and beyond. This spectacular all singing, all dancing production features 20 original songs destined to become future Irish classics, alongside powerful theatrical storytelling, live music and world class choreography. The production stars acclaimed soprano Leah Barniville and World Irish Dancing Champion Jack Quinn. Choreography is led by Jason O'Neill of Riverdance fame, while director Mark Lambert brings his renowned authenticity, emotion and characterisation to the production. Combining cinematic staging, Irish dance, emotional ballads, stirring choruses and epic choreography, Celtic Exodus is being described as the Irish Les Misérables for a new generation. More than Riverdance, this is a full scale theatrical production with global ambition, created in Dublin and ready to take on the world.

Presented in the iconic Round Room of the Mansion House, this premium theatrical experience is expected to become one of Ireland’s landmark cultural productions.
